How to play Risto
- The board is packed with sliding pieces of different shapes.
- Pieces only slide in straight lines, and stop when they hit another piece or the wall.
- The big white piece is the one you're freeing — everything else is in its way.
- Clear a path, then slide the big white piece out through the exit at the bottom.
Controls. On a phone, swipe a piece in the direction you want it to go. On a computer, click and drag it. A piece can only move if there's empty space in that direction.
Scoring
You're scored on moves first, then time — fewer is better. There are 10 levels, easy to extraordinary; every puzzle is computer-verified so the score is fair. Each level has a champion, and you can only hold your single highest level at a time (beat someone at a higher level and your lower crowns pass on — but you're never knocked off entirely).
Strategy tips
- Plan two or three moves ahead before you touch anything.
- Watch for the trap of shuffling one piece back and forth — that wastes moves and rarely helps.
- Sometimes you must move a piece the 'wrong' way first to open the real path.
